The IRCC updated its processing times tool to reflect more accurate information

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated the processing times tool to provide applicants with more accurate information on March 31, 2022.

Previously the tool showed IRCC service standards under normal circumstances that were not updated regularly, but now it shows the processing times for permanent residence and citizenship services that are updated every week, based on data from the previous half-year.

The new updated tool gives more realistic and up-to-date information and reflects volumes of applications being processed. Their processing times tell applicants how long it took to process most complete applications in the past and are updated weekly.

Also, service standards are their commitments to process your application in a certain amount of time under normal circumstances. However, they are not updated regularly and not all programs have service standards.
