Service provider assist Afghan refugees to find employment in Canada

The government of Canada announced on March 25, 2022 that ACCES Employment, a service provider organization, helps Afghan refugees find employment in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

ACCES has held seven virtual job fairs for Afghan nationals to explore their work and settlement interests, and many Afghan newcomers have received job offers. The organization will expand its reach beyond the GTA, working with TalentPool in Calgary to deliver larger-scale job fairs across Canada. So far, Canada has accepted 9,560 Afghan refugees.

Some of the ACCES offers include:

  • mentoring support

  • translation and language support

  • job search workshops, including resume writing and interview preparation

  • work placements

  • onboarding and post-hire support

ACCES Employment assists more than 40,000 job seekers annually and works with 2,500 employers. The organization receives funding from all levels of government, including the IRCC.
