Canada has approved more than 71,000 applications under the CUAET

The government of Canada updated the number of Ukrainian newcomers arriving in Canada under the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) on May 20, 2022.


According to the latest update, between January 1 and May 15, 2022, 6,369 Ukrainians arrived in Canada by land, and an additional 25,832 arrived by air. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) received 241,620 applications under the CUAET between March 17 and May 18, 2022.


The applications of 112,035 Ukrainian nationals have been approved so far. The Canadian government is dedicated to supporting those affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Canada has introduced special programs to assist Ukrainians and their families in finding safety in Canada as part of the Government's response.
