Quebec is no longer accepting applications under the Refugee Collective Sponsorship Program

The government of Quebec has stopped the application intake through the province’s Refugee Collective Sponsorship Program.

Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI) announced the application intake for the program in 2021. The province accepted sponsorship applications for refugees from January 18, 2022 to February 16, 2022.

Quebec aims to accept 825 applications for the sponsorship of refugees in 2022. The province will also accept half of these applications from organizations and the other half from groups of two to five people. Quebec welcomed 1,610 refugees in 2021.

During 2019, Quebec also welcomed 4,815 refugees before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration declared that,

"The minister of immigration, francization, and integration could proceed to undertake one or several draws if the number of applications submitted and admissible exceeds the maximum number of applications that are allowed from sponsors"
