Nova Scotia has welcomed the third charter flight for Ukrainians

The government of Canada announced on June 2, 2022 about the arrival of the third charter flight carrying Ukrainian nationals.

319 Ukrainians and their families arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and were welcomed by Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Tim Houston, Premier of Nova Scotia, and Jill Balser, Nova Scotia Minister of Labour, Skills, and Immigration.

On May 23 and 29, the first and second charter flights brought 643 Ukrainians to Canada. These charters were open to Ukrainian nationals and their family members who had been accepted through the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program.

IRCC has received over 259,000 CUAET applications, of which more than 120,000 have been approved between March 17 and May 25, 2022. Also, 35,455 Ukrainian citizens entered Canada by land and air between January 1 and May 22, 2022.
